At 11:15am we had a family picnic with Ian's class. We all brought lunches and we had special cupcakes made with "Little Critters" on each since that was their class theme. Ian was sporting his NC State shirt in honor of Miss Nancy because two of her kids go to UNC ("Carolina") and down here...they are rivals! So, there has been a little bit of a battle between Ian and Miss Nancy. Some of Ian's classmates tell their parents, "Ian pulls for State!" The kids had a great time running around with their friends and it was pretty funny...when a parent got the camera out, the kids would run from all over to get into the group picture. As you can see in the picture, Gavin and other siblings fit in with the group. At the end of the picnic, Miss Cathy and Miss Nancy gave each child a "Critter Box" with a poem in it. It was amazing. To top everything off, they had a DVD made that includes over 300 pictures from the entire year of just the class. OH MY GOSH!!!! The cover of the DVD is a picture of the class. What a gift!!!! The picture of Ian and his best bud, Justin, is too cute! Oh, I need to add one more picture of Ian's class that the teacher took!
Then, most of us ventured to a nearby park to continue the party. I soooo did not want to go back to work! But, I did...wasn't focused on much other than jotting down questions for the Kingswood Elementary Kindergarten Parent Orientation tonight!
I am completely overwhelmed right now with kindergarten! Plus, Gavin will be heading to pre-school in the fall. I'll get over this...we need to focus on the summer, right?! :)
