Fall 2010 Regular Season Champs!

Before Tuesday night's game Cailean and I found out that the Scrappers became the league champions! The coaches decided to not tell the boys until after Tuesday night's game. I wondered why we had to have the post game talk way out beyond centerfield because usually we do it right behind the dugout. Coach did his talk and then the boys received their Scrappers paw to put on their helmets. Additionally, each player was given a plastic bottle of ginger ale, but they couldn't open it until everyone had one. The coach asked the players what the MLB players do when they win a conference and then...well...watch the video! It was great!!!!!!

Atlanta

We drove down to Atlanta for my brother's wedding, which was Friday, October 15. We stayed at the Marriott Suites with a lot of my relatives. On Friday we hung out with Alissa in the bridal suite and had our hair done and kept her company. We had a lot of great laughs. My aunts and uncles did a great job keeping me "medicated" as we called it! LOL
My brother and I...never knew my dress color would match his tie and vest!
The three girl cousins: Maddy, Christi and Jessica...LOVE them!

Still couldn't get a decent family photo after mom taking at least 10

At the reception, the boys displayed their t-shirts I had made. On the front it read, "Thank You Uncle Matt..." and on the back it said, "for giving me Aunt Alissa!"

School

The boys seem to be doing great in school. Gavin's teacher does not seem to have the quiet and shy Gavin that his previous teachers had. I guess he is feeling quite comfortable at school and with himself or something. LOL He is more vocal, participates more, but does have his moments of shyness. We'll see if he participates at the Lunch Bunch in another week or so. That will be the test! He brought home the class book and he was going through all the kids' names. He would say, "Ke, Ke, Ke" and I would say Connor. Then he would say "De De De" for the sound of the D for the last name. I said his first and last name and Gavin said, "Good job mom. You know 2 more words." LOL Thanks Gavin. He thinks he is teaching me words!!! So, he proceeded to do that for all the names.

Ian hasn't been fighting with us on homework. He does much better at night when Gavin is asleep. I've always done my homework right after school to get it over and done with it, but Ian gets more frustrated with it at that time. So, whatever works! He has his good days and challenging days. Sometimes school is OK and sometimes school is not OK. He writes a lot about his sporting events and he finds books on reptiles and sports right now. Cailean has been able to volunteer every week since the start of school because his day is Thursday. I, on the other hand, haven't and tomorrow will be my first day. FINALLY!!! Between early release days, Teacher Workdays, a training day for me at work...I have yet to get in there! So, I'm looking forward to tomorrow.

A Little Sports Going On

Saturday was jammed packed with sports, but we were loving it! Gavin's coach moved practice/game to a different field just so Mimi and Pop-pop could watch Gavin once this season! How nice was that?!

Gavin's #1 fan!

After the games and volunteering at the concession stand, the four of us managed to attend the NCSU football game. The tickets were in different sections, so I had Ian and Cailean took Gavin. I even managed to get a sunburn!! hee hee
Back to the ball park on Sunday afternoon for a make up baseball game! My grandparents, mom and Gavin at to top of the hill...this is their spot to watch Ian's games!

Ian was chosen as the Scrapper Paw of the Game!
