Keeping our heads above water...

Lots of fun events coming up! Cailean's parents are coming up to visit for a week. I have a huge conference that I oversee this Friday. Book Fair and Spring Fling coming up for Ian's school. Crossing my fingers Cailean doesn't get a call to fix a plane somewhere. Ian's birthday this Sunday, but his party is the following weekend. Practices. Getting together with friends. The list goes on. It's hard to believe Gavin has about one month of school left!! He has his end of year activities coming up, too!

Ian and Cailean return from camp!

Cailean and Ian left Friday afternoon and headed to the coast to the famous Camp Seagull, owned and operated by the YMCA. This weekend they hosted all of the first year Y-Guides from I think just our county. That's a lot of people! Each tribe was in a cabin and each cabin had about 10 sets of bunkbeds. Friday night the dads grilled out and had dinner there and Saturday night they went to the dining facility with all the other tribes for dinner. They did so much while they were there! Let's see...I've heard about archery, bb guns, looking for shark teeth, running around, playing soccer and baseball, basketball, tennis, eating junk food, campfire, fireworks and the list goes on and on.

I heard Ian saw a lot of people he knew outside of his own tribe, which I think is really neat. He saw some friends from the Kirk, one from his baseball team and a few from previous soccer teams he has been on the last few years. There are probably hundreds of people there and they saw each other!

Click on the link and you'll see all the pictures! They drove down with Tim and Grayson, so you'll see a few pictures of them in there.

This is hard

I've been so good all way and being really positive and showing excitement for Ian as he and Cailean head off Friday afternoon to the big Spring Outing with the Y-Guides. Tonight I just realized I won't see Ian again until Sunday because I'm at work before he gets up in the morning. This is extremely rough. Ian has been away from me twice. I thought once, but now I just realized it was twice. The first time was in 2004 when I had my gallbladder removed. He was away from me for less than 12 hours at night. The second time was in 2006 when I had Gavin. Needless to say...this has been one rough week for us!

I don't have much planned for Gavin and I. He will spend the afternoon with me at work on Friday. Saturday he has a soccer game in the morning and then he'll spend a few hours with mom and my grandparents while I'm helping to host my friend's baby shower. No plans Saturday night and then Sunday is church and brunch and wait eagerly for the arrival of Cailean and Ian. So, we'll see what he wants to do.

Two Peas in a Pod!

Gavin's close friend, Connor, came over after pre-school today and they had a lot of fun! Neither one of them were thrilled about running two errands with me, but they made it through and had plenty of time to play at home.

They are both Wolfpack fans and they were interested in a little football game. I kept hearing, "Wolfpack in the House!!!!" Gavin wanted to be State and told Connor he could be Duke. Connor told Gavin that they would both be State. LOL I guess they thought teammates could tackle each other! LOL

They were laughing and laughing and laughing!
A much needed ice cream cone break!

They played the Wii, bowled in the house, had a football game, worked on the dry erase board, played basketball in the hallway and downstairs, played with the matchbox cars and so on and so on!!! I just love this picture of the two of them!

Lots of Activities!

Last Sunday afternoon we went to an Easter Egg Hunt and Party. There were lots of kids there and it was nice to catch up with some friends we don't see regularly. It was such a perfect day to be outside. Cailean had to work, so he missed out on all the fun.

Don't forget (DAD!!!) to click on the pictures to enlarge them!!!

They even had baby chicks at the party.
Gavin went to Libby's birthday party after his school on Friday! It was beautiful weather and just a great day to enjoy the outdoors. Libby had a pony there and chicks for her party. The kids enjoyed some street hockey for a little bit! It was a hot one!

Gavin finishing up his pony ride.

Go Wombats!!! Gavin's first game was today at 8:30am. Can you pick him out? He scored 2 goals today and had a great time. He told us after that he kicked the ball out of bounds because he was tired. LOL LOL

Gavin playing right forward!

My mom helped with the tunnel and patted her grandson on the head!
Ian's game was in the afternoon. He went 2 for 2 and pitched in the last inning for the first time!
Love this!

Love this, too!

Where the kids are now...

Ian and Gavin are doing awesome! We'll start with Gavin this time...

You just never know what he is going to do! With Ian you know and with Gavin...nope! He just has that personality. He definitely does not like to be told what to do. He is our little drama boy. He likes to get his way. He loves sports. He has really been into puzzles. He just started his first soccer season and would rather go to practice each day rather than twice a week. He loves going to school. He doesn't like to be the center of attention and if he does, then he becomes really shy.

Ian loves to test the limits with us. He is almost seven, but sometimes thinks he is going on ten. He does not like going to school. He likes puzzles with his Mimi. He loves sports. His shoe size just went up again. He is in his first "little league" season and is doing very well with it.

After church and Sunday School today we're off to a friend's house for their annual Easter egg hunt. We haven't been able to attend due to soccer the last two years. Then to mom's to dig some holes in this red clay (joy) for their new rose bushes.

Busy week ahead of us. PTA meeting/Y-Guides meeting one night. Cailean is running Ian's baseball practice the next night. I'm running Gavin's soccer practice the following night. Then both have games on Saturday!

Two Sports Fanatics!

Here are some pictures of Gavin playing soccer and Ian playing baseball!

My grandmother on the left, then Aunt Aggie, Cousin Sue and my Mom!

Gavin is actually really good and enjoys being out on the field! I can't believe he is on the Wombats though. That was Ian's first team name.

After Gavin's soccer practice we had the whole family out playing soccer and baseball. Uncle Jimi was trying to keep up with his great nephew. Pop-pop was throwing pitches to Ian. Cailean was protecting the spectators from the ball. LOL Aunt Sandi was the photographer. Sue, Aunt Aggie, my mom and grandmother were the spectators and just taking it all in.

Pop-pop still holds that intensity when it comes to sports!!!!

First day on the pitcher's mound! There's our lefty!!!

Love this stance that Ian did at practice as a pitcher. Ian is no longer playing t-ball and he has moved up to the big leagues. He's in kid/coach pitch, so the head coach has a few of the players be the pitchers and he tagged Ian as one of them. I told Cailean to remind the coach that Ian is not even 7 yet! haha He throws the ball 45 feet away and he did a very good job for the first time!
