This week

I went to my new doctor's office yesterday morning and this morning I seem to be feeling better. My boss is awesome and she told me yesterday to NOT go in the office this week and get my two feet back on the floor. I am working from home, but doing what I can. I go in 6 weeks or so for another chest xray. The house is a mess...the laundry is piled high...the dust seems to not go away if I just blink and ask for it to go away...

Cailean's parents flew down here from VT Tuesday night and will be here until Saturday. They've been able to entertain the boys and have been a HUGE help around the house. I need to get my camera out and take some pictures to post.

The boys are growing up too fast. They have such different personalities, but at times are way too similar. When Gavin has something set in his mind, then he wants it. ARGH. Yesterday morning he threw a tantrum (was I in the mood for this????) because he wanted fluff for breakfast. He wants to do everything himself, but I think it is important to remind him that it is okay to ask for help and to accept help. He is very determined. Ian would be a happy camper if he could just play sports all day and not do anything else. He seems to be so much like his Uncle Matt. Sometimes it's pulling teeth to get him interested in completing his homework.

Oh and Gavin LOVES Morris the Moose books right now. On one page there is a girl who is counting. Well, Gavin was looking at the picture and he is certain she is doing the Wolfpack sign!!!!! Sorry Gavin...not in the Morris the Moose book!!! But, try telling a 3 year old that and he is certain she is a Wolfpack fan!!!

Ian has a few themes going around in his head about what he wants for his birthday. We need to come up with something real soon. I am trying to get him to think non-red because the frosting is a pain!!!!!! He really wants a NC State theme. So, who knows. What can mom come up with for that? LOL C'mon MIMI!!

SPRING NEEDS TO ARRIVE SOON!!!!!

Where is the warm weather? I want the germs out of our house NOW!!!!! I'm serious! I can't seem to catch a break at all. Last weekend I was dealing with the flu and strep and Ian was dealing with pink eye and a viral infection. I thought I was getting better by Thursday, but Friday nope. This morning I was at Urgent Care and they did a chest x-ray to confirm pneumonia and on top of that I have a sinus infection. Hopefully these meds will take care of this.

Thank goodness for mom. She took the boys to church and then didn't return them until 1pm or so. She took them grocery shopping to buy us fruit, snacks, etc. THANK YOU MOM!!! Gavin chose not to take a nap today. ARGH. Grouchy boy.

Cailean took the boys to the Y swimming when he got home from work. That gave me time to upload tons of pictures to Walgreens.com, so I can get them printed. Then I was able to see what paper and supplies I needed to order from Creative Memories. No, I didn't find the money tree...just really need this stuff. LOL

Ian had a basketball game yesterday. He didn't get to play for 2 weeks due to being sick and no practice. He impressed me with some bounce passes around the defenders. Go Ian! He made a few baskets and got some rebounds. It's hard to believe we have 2 practices left and 2 games.

If you get a phone message from a young boy, then it's Ian asking you to donate to his Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser in his PE class. He started making some calls today. LOL He put all of his cash he received for Valentine's Day in his envelope.

Off to the couch. Cailean brought home great magazines he found on some airplanes at work. All the Hollywood gossip ones. Yay!!!!!

Drama King!

Ian was able to go back to school today and I went back to work today. These germs sure did hit us. Wow! Gavin and I picked up Ian from school today. On our way home I asked Ian if he was feeling better. Before he could answer, we heard Gavin pretend to cough and say, "Ian, I feel better." I said, "Gavin, are you sick?" He responds, "No, but I feel better." LOL LOL Last week Gavin wanted to sleep in the "big bed" meaning my bed because he saw Ian in there. I told Gavin he was fine in his own bed because he wasn't sick. He goes on for about 20 seconds with fake coughing saying he was sick.

We've got a basketball game at 10am this Saturday. Then, Ian goes off with mom and my grandparents to catch the NCSU/VA men's basketball game.

I registered Ian for spring soccer. He is 1 of 23 non-Morrisville residents who were able to get in. Yea, I had to get up by 6am and go online to register. By 9am, it was full. PHEW!!!!!! Some of the kids we know won't be able to play because when they got online to register, it was full. ARGH.

The Germs Can Leave Now

What an interesting last few days we've had in this house. I was at work on Thursday and felt like I was hit by a bus. Talk about NO energy. Friday morning I found myself at the doctor's office and was put on an antibiotic and a few other things. Friday afternoon Ian came down with a fever and we both felt lousy on Saturday. Cailean's parents flew to VT on Saturday, too. Thank goodness for mom! She picked them up and Gavin at 7:30am to head to the airport and then she kept Gavin until 7pm that night. He came home to sleep and then she got him early Sunday morning and he spent all day with mom and my grandparents to keep him away from the germs!

Ian and I had to miss basketball on Saturday. He was devestated...I was devestated!

We called the oncall doctor Saturday afternoon about Ian and she scheduled us in to see someone Sunday morning. He is being treated for pink eye and we were back at the doctor's this morning, but it's pink eye and a viral infection with an annoying cough. So, hopefully he'll feel better later this afternoon and we'll see about going to school tomorrow.

Gavin entertained mom and my grandparents all weekend! He was exhausted since he refused to take a nap on either day. He told my grandparents Saturday night, "I am going to miss you, but I'll be back tomorrow." LOL Sunday when mom came to get him, Gavin said to her, "I told you I would be back today!" LOL He is quite the little ham.

So, that's where we are at now...just laying low and trying to find some energy!

Nana and Poppi are here!!!

Cailean's parents arrived Monday night and are with us until Saturday morning. We're keeping them pretty occupied with watching Gavin when I'm at work and going to swim lessons and playing outside, playing baseball and basketball and on and on!

Ian is doing really well in school. He actually looks forward to going! He had PE today and he keeps talking about Jump Rope for Heart on March 4 or something. I haven't seen anything on this, but Ian says he has to collect a lot of money for it. So, he received a Valentine's Day card today and there was a bill enclosed. He put it in an envelope and told me he's putting it towards this event!!! Wow. If he goes through my wallet, he'll be disappointed! LOL LOL LOL

Gavin loves school, but I wish the transition was where it used to be. Ever since he had a diarrhea episode from his medicine...it has been hard to leave the car in carpool line. When we pick him up he tells us he didn't cry and he loves school!

Gavin loves to say, "Yee haw!" The two love to give fake passes in basketball and then shoot the ball. They just started that this week.

Looking forward to our next game...this Saturday at NOON!

Things just sneak up...

I got the calendar out to schedule a Stampin' Up! workshop and realized that Valentine's Day is next weekend! Ian will need to make his Valentine cards and same with Gavin. I guess I know what we'll be doing tomorrow!!!!!

I've been on a roll asking for donations from local businesses for Teacher Appreciation. I'm pretty excited about it all. The teachers do so much for the kids and they show lots of enthusiasm...gotta keep them happy! :) Ian went to Kingswood Friday night for a Parent's Night Out - a PTA fundraising event that the teachers/staff did. It was great! Ian was soooo tired, but he had so much fun. They went in their pjs and were able to play games, watch movies and be with their friends.

Cailean's parents arrive Monday night for the week before they head up to Vermont.

The boys had a lot of fun at Ben's birthday party yesterday afternoon. There was a Finding Nemo bouncy house and the kids had fun. They jumped and jumped and jumped!! After, the four of us went up to the Y and went swimming. I was excited that I got to swim laps! The boys love the water!!! Gavin actually jumped into the pool without holding onto our hands. He jumped to Cailean and went underwater and I'm yelling at Cailean, "GET HIM!!!" LOL Of course he would...I don't know what I was thinking. I guess I didn't expect Gavin to get that brave at this point.

Ian had a basketball game yesterday morning at 8am. The other team had this kid who was about 6 feet tall...I swear! The team was just happy to be out on the court and as long as they love basketball, then that is all I should care about! No practice this week again! ARGH! Another game on Saturday at noon! Go Armadillos!!!!!

Gavin's First Swim Lesson...

Gavin was very, very excited to go to his swim lesson this afternoon. It didn't take him long to get ready with his swim gear and he was happy that Aunt Sandi and Uncle Mike got him his very own swim backpack for his birthday! He thought he was just the coolest kid around. We picked up Ian at 3:45pm and then headed over to Triangle Aquatic Center and Cailean met us there. We waited a little bit, but I wanted him to just hang out and get used to the area hoping to calm any of his nerves! Every person who walked by us...Gavin asked, "Is that my structer?" It took a second for me to catch on that he was saying, "instructor" for "swim instructor!" He wasn't sure if he was getting a coach, teacher or instructor...basically he didn't know that they sorta meant the same.

So, the swim teachers comes out to the lobby and calls off the names. Gavin grabbed my hand and we walked into the pool. He sat on the top step just like the other 3 kids. I thought, "Okay, great! No problem with Gavin. He is excited!" So, Ian and I go sit down and Cailean is standing in the corner. Ummm...Gavin started crying and crying and cried some more. Neither one of us jumped to him since we wanted to see what the teachers would do with him. He wouldn't do anything with them. So, after about 5 minutes (which seemed like 30 minutes), I went over to Gavin to see what was wrong and I took over his goggles. It turns out he wanted his goggles. Phew. So, he put them on and off he went for the rest of the class!!!!! He did GREAT! He went under the water, he jumped off the side, he did the back float (with assistance obviously) and picked up the rings that were on the bottom of the steps (wouldn't put his face right in the water to get them though). I was very impressed with how he did today! Go Gavin!
