It's Fall!

Love this time of year! We're keeping very busy with the sports schedules and the boys love it. Here's a picture at the end of a game.

Gavin Saying The Pledge of Allegiance

Ian had a baseball game Saturday afternoon and it was Gavin's debut announcing. He has been practicing for about 2 weeks. He knew all the Scrappers - names and numbers. Nobody needed to tell him what to say. He even did the Pledge of Allegiance, which is done at the start of every West Raleigh game. Ian's 2nd at-bat, Gavin announced him as, "And now batting for the Scrappers...#4...Ian Turner...my big brodder!" Announced just like that! It was absolutely adorable!

Ian played well! He was given an opportunity to play first base for the first time in a game. There were two outs with a runner on first and second. The batter hits the ball right towards first base/right field area. Ian sticks his glove out as far as it could go and the ball landed in the glove! He looked in the glove to really see the ball was still there. Everyone was cheering. The game was over! He went to coach. The coach lifted him up like the team had just won the World Series! It was GREAT!!!!!!!!!

We're Back

Ian and Gavin are doing great despite having sinus infections. They started with deep coughs over two weeks ago and I ended up taking both to see the doctor on Monday afternoon. They are being treated for sinus infections and I had one as well. I think I have the allergies to thank since they kicked in over the weekend.

On Saturday we had to hold Gavin out of soccer because he was wheezing a little bit when he woke up. So, I took him to the doctor's and he is being treated for asthma. He was given a breathing treatment in the doctor's office with a nebulizer and then he now has an inhaler with a spacer. Once he recovers from being sick the plan is to only use the inhaler before his soccer. Then, he'll be re-evaluated at his appointment in January.

We attended a Y-Guides event Wednesday evening at Monkey Joe's in Raleigh. We didn't know anyone else there, but Ian (and Cailean) are all about patches and it was a patch event. LOL

Back to...EVERYTHING!

Both kids are back to school now. I'm back to a school year work schedule. Sports schedules are in full swing. Sunday School is back in our schedule now. Playdates are back in action. I'm looking forward to colder temperatures and breaking out my sweatshirts and jeans! Also, I'm excited to visit the corn maze a few times this fall.

We keep very busy during the week, but the boys are happy and thrilled. They do have their down time at home, but prefer to be outside hitting the ball or running around and that's perfectly fine with us.

Ian is adjusting to 2nd grade. He isn't excited to go off to school, but once he is there he seems to do fine. As long as there are no tears or stomach pains...I can deal. Gavin is just the opposite. He was so excited to start back up last week. No tears at all and looked forward to visiting with his new teachers and friends. He's in the upstairs hallway, which is a big deal for the 4 year olds!

Gavin and I went to the season opener and home opener for NC State football on Saturday night. We tailgated with some families from the Kirk, which was a lot of fun. Gavin had about 10 kids to play with during that time, so they played some football (no surprise there). Then, he and I found our seats a few rows back from the field on the 30 yard line. Perfect!

That night Ian and Cailean went to the Durham Bulls baseball game and then camped out with some Y-Guides members. They had a lot of fun together and stayed up very late. Ian kept rubbing it in that he slept in the same clothes. EEEWWW!!!!! It was an experience that they'll definitely remember!
