Ian's school participated in Jump Rope for Heart this year. The kindergarteners didn't need to learn how to jump rope, but they were able to collect money to put towards the cause. Ian raised quite a bit of money, so one of the prizes he earned was a jump rope. The Easter bunny brought him one, too. Last week I taught him how to jump rope. It took a few times to get the coordination down, but now he can jump 8 times in a row! Of course Gavin needed to try and he was sooooo frustrated. He would say, "I cannot do it." Well, at mom's on Sunday night, mom through the jump rope over her and Gavin and then Gavin jumped over it (when it was not moving) and he just had the biggest grin on his face! Smart move Mimi! After school today he immediately found his jump rope and tried it on the driveway. Well, if you hadn't noticed, Ian is a perfectionist (did not get this trait from me!!!) and he was TICKED OFF because he couldn't get past 6 jumps!!! Oh boy.
So, we moved to the backyard to play some soccer. Gavin joined in on the fun and the next thing we know we are trying to take the ball away from each other. Well, Ian took the ball away from Gavin. Gavin stood there and screamed as loud as he could. Then, ran to Ian and pushed him to the ground.
As I observed this situation I thought, "He has a lot to learn from now until next spring when he can play soccer on a team. He better not do that to his teammates or to his opponents!!!!" Can you imagine? Some kid takes the ball away from Gavin??? He will tackle him to the ground for doing that!!!!
