Are you keeping up with us?? :)

Ian had a soccer game last night. I can definitely tell a difference with these kids when games are on weeknights compared to Saturday mornings. Ian still hustled and did a great job! After school today, I took the boys to North Cary Park and we had two soccer balls. Coach wants the kids to run every night because that soccer field they plan on is pretty darn big. Sometimes they have to play a straight 15 minutes before they get a sub (sub rotation). Sometimes they can play 5 or 10 minutes. Needless to say, they are running up and down that field many times! So, Ian ran around a baseball field that has soccer goals on it three times. Gavin was trying to do it, too! He always wants to keep up with his big brother. Ian and I practiced a few drills and it was nice to run around for a good 30 minutes or so. Gavin has one year left (next April) before he will be old enough to be on a soccer team. By the time he can, he is probably going to be a little bored. This kid can already dribble down the field, look up for the goal and has a decent kick! Ian thinks he taught Gavin everything he knows! :)

Lots going on right now. Cailean has been working lots of OT and keeping up with the yard. I'm swamped at NCSU right now with finishing up end of the year reports, concluding the academic year, revamping a program and getting ready for the summer and fall. Of course all at once. It used to be a routine the last six years, but programs are changing and drastic improvements are being made.

Throw in Gavin's and Ian's end of year events at school and we have some fun times in Cary! LOL Gavin had his lunch bunch yesterday. It's a fundraising event that parents should attend. If not, then their kids run free with no parental supervision! So, I was able to make that event after volunteering in Ian's classroom. Gavin enjoyed two slices of pizza, some fruit and dessert! He sat next to his buddy Connor. He didn't really sing the song with the other kids when he stood up front. I was in the front row trying to get his attention, but he didn't see me until after.

Ian's school is having Spring Fling Friday night. Should be a fun time! It'll be a late night for the boys, too. It's similar to a mini carnival I guess. First time for us! Music, food, games, dunking booth, silent auctions and a fire truck. It's also the Book Fair. His class will be going Friday, so hopefully Cailean can meet him there and buy some new books!
