Keep Plugging Away

That's the way we feel these days. I'm pretty sure the boys are done with camps. But, unfortunately they will be going for the next two weeks. Our kids would prefer vegging at home for a bit, but it hasn't been like that. However, swim lessons ended tonight. So, that frees up our evenings right now. That's a good thing! The boys progressed, which I was happy to see. I'm not going to miss sitting at the pool for 2 hours watching in this 100 degree weather.

This week they've been at the Y Camps. Gavin had a babysitter for Monday and Tuesday afternoons and did some cool stuff with her. Thanks Jen! Next week they are both at 1/2 day camps, so that'll be good for them to have the afternoons with their Mimi for a few of those days.

I was able to fanagle my work schedule and convince my boss I didn't need to submit this Friday for leave. She's letting me take the day off. Since I've become a permanent employee I have to use the leave system and I don't have a lot of days off right now. This is our only free weekend until probably Christmas, so we decided to make a quick trip to Jacksonville to see Cailean's brother and his family for 2 nights.

We received Ian's fall soccer schedule tonight from Coach Rob! Yay! Looking forward to a great season as an assistant coach again. We already have some conflicts with some school events, but we'll be okay. Ian is trying out with this youth baseball league next weekend. If he makes it, then he'll do baseball and soccer in the fall and we'll have to figure that out. We'll know in mid August. We'll also find out Gavin's soccer schedule hopefully in the next day or two. He's trying out a different league this season and he'll only play on Saturdays. Ian's soccer is twice a week. I'm so thankful that they LOVE sports.

Tonight after swim lessons we had dinner at mom's to celebrate her birthday! It's great to have them back...they've been gone for a week.

Mom is headed to Atlanta next week to spend some time with Matt and Alissa and to attend her bridal shower. I'm staying back to stay with Mimi and Pop-pop, so mom can go and have her last little vacation before she goes back to work. Plus, it's the ONLY weekend I work the entire year. I run a 2 day training and it's always scheduled the weekend before the classes start at NCSU.
